Not from around here

I spotted these two gorgeous cyclopolitans on the waterfront the other day.

They just looked so fabulous, I couldn't decide which photo was best ... so I put both in.

We had a quick chat and obviously, from their accents, they were not from around here. They were confused as to why all the cyclists they saw were dressed in 'sports' gear that camouflaged their identity, and why they had not seen any 'ordinary' cyclists.  So I filled them in on how NZ had selectively killed off most non-sports cyclists with the mandatory helmet law. But I also reassured them that there is a resistance movement that is alive and kicking!

Stylish ladies of a certain age!

I LOVE this video ...
I couldn't embed it so you'll need to go here to see it ... but it's worth it.

It's a tad more fashion than bicycle but hey, it has a bicycle in it so it counts!

Bicycles and lettuce

Just recently I have been intercepting quite a few stylish cyclists at the Britomart market

Love the whole 'look' - this gentleman definitely seems like a candidate for the Tweed Ride

In the Slow Lane

I'm in a magazine again. Life and Leisure interviewed me for a piece in their magazine ...

A very nice young lady asked me lots of questions about my life story and then wrote it up. There was then quite a bit of too-ing and fro-ing as unfortunately, she new nothing about bicycles or English country villages ...

The article is written using my real name, rather than my a.k.a of Unity, so I feels a bit like an 'expose!'

They got the title completely wrong - as everyone who rides a bicycle knows, it is by far the quickest way of getting around!
