Fashionable bicycle in blue

Glassons has obviously caught on to the fact that several big names in the fashion industry have made cycling very 'now'. Chanel have included a bicycle as part of their spring/summer range (a mere snip at 6,200 pounds!) and French fashion house Celine is producing two bicycle friendly clothing collections.

A bicycle is the latest must have fashion accessory. Even celebs, such as Elle Macpherson and Jessica Alba, are getting on their bicycles - and of course they look tres chic!

It's a beautiful bicycle and I think they call this a 'fixie' due to it's lack of gears. Not quite sure why it's a men's frame or why it has a chain through the wheel though - any ideas?

  1. My sister's boyfriend rides fixed gear bikes - him and a few mates have a group blog at http://steadyrollin.wordpress.com .

I have never seen a ladies' frame fixie anywhere - perhaps it's a strength thing (people stunt these), or just part of the looks. No idea about the chain.

Fixies have become the new trendy bicycle for 'hip' marketing in recent years, much to the horror of some hardcore fixed riders. This here is the hipster equivalent of a freestyle BMX bike in a surf/sports shop, or a chromed lowrider in an urban streetwear store.
